Recipes to get you though winter

As you know, i’m a huge fan of Juices and smoothies for the skin.  They’re a quick and easy way to get a blast of nutrients fast, when on the go.  But when it comes to winter, we all crave warmth and comfort, so i often swap juices for nourishing soups.  Soups are so easy to make and a great alternative to take to work for lunch, or as a quick and easy dinner after work. This week Katie, our talented team member, has put together a soup and two other recipes that she loves making, for you to enjoy! BAKED TOMATOES AND EGGS This recipe is great for Breakfast (if you have a bit of extra time to spare), Lunch, or Dinner. Quick and easy meal with lots of skin friendly ingredients for tea – Spicy tomato baked eggs with pitta bread to dip in! All round great recipe. 1 chopped onion 1 handful of spinach 1/2 handful of basil 1 clove of garlic 1 chopped chilli (optional) 1 tbsp olive oil 4 eggs 2 400g tins of chopped tomatoes Sprinkling of feta cheese -Place the olive oil in a frying pan with a lid to soften the onion, basil, garlic and chilli for about 5 minutes and then add the spinach and the chopped tomatoes and simmer until thick. Make 4 slight holes in the dish and crack the eggs into them. Replace the lid on top of the pan and leave to simmer until your eggs are cooked to how you want them. Serve with crusty bread or pitta bread, and enjoy! Tomatoes – Rich in vitamin C & selenium, a powerful skin protector from UV rays. Eggs – Contain vitamins...

A natural procedure that actually works for Skin Rejuvenation

I’m always interested in natural ways to rejuvenate the skin, so for me micro needling was a must. The science behind how it works makes perfect sense to me with my medical background. I’ve been performing micro needling treatments for nearly 6 years and although I admit it isn’t for those looking for a quick fix, if you’re patient and willing to make an investment in your skin, long term the results are well worth it. Even Jennifer Aniston is a big fan! So what results can you expect? Plumper thicker skin More even skin colour and tone Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles Reduction of scarring and pigmentation Micro needling isn’t a new fad, it’s actually been around for a long time. What’s advanced is the way the treatment is delivered. The most advanced way to micro needle the skin is electronically. In my clinic I use what’s known as the EDS system. Why electronic? It’s far more comfortable The pen shape of the device makes it easier to get in to hard to reach areas, such as above the lip and under the eye. Active agents can be penetrated into the skin simultaneously. The depth of the needles can be altered in different areas of the face. So how exactly does it work? The skin is cleansed and numbed using a topical anaesthetic. Active agents,, such as hyaluronic acid are chosen and applied to the skin. The electronic device then glides over the skin in circular motions. The device produces thousands of micro medical needle columns in the skin, as each column penetrates the dermis of the...
