I’m Gemma Montgomery
Cosmetic Nurse Specialist, providing help for people with the following skin concerns
- Signs of ageing
- Troublesome conditions such as acne, scarring and pigmentation
I am also a UK Trainer for a well respected National Cosmetic Training company, training Doctors, Nurses and Dentists within the field of Cosmetics.
Working independently from my discreet clinic in the heart of Halifax, it’s safe to say I’m a little obsessed and dedicated to my work in skin. Not content with just serving people in my geographic location, my mission is to help people far and wide gain healthy, youthful looking skin.
Working with honesty and compassion, I will only perform selected treatments and recommend products and services that deliver results, are rigorously assessed for safety and are of the upmost quality. My wish is to treat people who embrace themselves and just want to look more fresh, rejuvenated and good for their age.
Looking natural is of the utmost importance to me. I’m proud to say my reputation is being able to provide undetectable injectables, should that be the route a client chooses.
My clients always report back to me that people say they’re looking really good! but are unable to put their finger on why. It’s then that I consider I’ve done my job well and as I intended.
I’m passionate about educating people in how to take back control of their skin. Uncovering the truths and dispelling the myths people are told, in relation to skin care and skin treatments. Myths often fed by the media and celebrity endorsement.
That’s because I genuinely care.
My clients are special to me and I want them to feel and look the best version of themselves, so they are happy, confident and empowered.
I take pride in delivering a high quality personal service and regularly invest in keeping my knowledge and skills up to date with new advances and research, so you can be sure I work to evidence based, high standards of excellence:
My medical Nursing career began in 1997, specialising in Cardiology. With hard work and passion I progressed to senior role of Nursing Sister at the tender age of 25. I eventually branched out to other roles within the community, caring for patients with high dependency needs.
Throughout my career, health promotion featured greatly and I witnessed many people struggle with their health and appearance in direct response to their lifestyle choices. I also began to see the link between the mind and the body.
Outside of my work I had always had a keen interest in skin, brought on by the fact that I suffered terribly with troublesome acne for 15 years. With failed attempts from numerous health professionals I eventually healed myself using my own intuition, experience and knowledge.
Although I enjoyed my NHS roles and the invaluable experience it gave me, I always felt that something was missing and that I wasn’t fulfilling my true calling.
With my passion for skin, medical knowledge and artistic flair, I saw a huge gap in expert skin treatments and advice available for those looking for help with their skin, be it ageing or troublesome concerns.
Being an independent prescriber which enables me to prescribe medication, just as a doctor does. I knew instantly that I could make a positive difference to people’s lives.
The pivotal point was the sudden death of my nana (she was a parent to me) which coincided with the birth of my first child; it was an intensely emotional time. Realising how fragile life is and somewhat terrified, I took a leap of faith and decided to make myself happy and follow my passion.
Fast-forward 8 years; I’m a busy working mum of two, doing work I love. I am proud to say my business has grown organically through word of mouth recommendation and a high volume of repeat clients, for which I am eternally grateful. xx
A little secret before you finish reading… Just in case you were wondering what the butterfly symbol on my logo represents, it’s transformation. A daily reminder to me, that out of the darkness something beautiful can still emerge.
